Head of School Update

Spring has sprung!

Welcome back everyone!

I hope you all had an opportunity over the Easter break to have some quality family time and enjoy some warm weather!  Well a little bit anyway. It does not seem possible but we are now in the Summer term and looking forward to some hopefully warmer days. This means children will be spending time outdoors more often. We will be making the most of the change in seasons and practising our athletics in PE and exploring our outdoor areas more often.

This week the children have settled back into school quickly and are excited to start the new term and topics in class. Catch up with all they are doing in our weekly updates for each class.

In PTFA news Pre-Loved Uniform Order Requests are now live and an email explaining this has been sent home. Donations can be made on school money. If you have any queries please call the office.

This week’s tech and online safety info focuses on the new National Online Safety Mobile App.  If, like me, you have loads of apps, this is one worth downloading. There are courses, explainer videos, webinars, guides and latest news that will help you keep up to date and help protect the children you care for when they are online – and yourself!  To get more info and download please access the link here: National Online Safety App

School Dinners –  Please note that when booking for the following week the cut off for ordering lunches is Sunday at 12pm.  This month we have 2 themed dinners – Coronation Picnic Friday 5 May and the Heroes Lunch on Thursday 15 May.  You will need to log in and rebook lunches for these dates as any previous choices made will have been removed.

Trips and Visits: Isle of Wight Trip if you have any outstanding balances please ensure these are paid and your account is up to date.  Bruce Grove residential please ensure you complete the consent survey added to the school payment if you have not done so already.

Parents Evening for Seacole class – please see your text for confirmation of the date.

UK Emergency alerts: On Sunday 23 April there will be a test of the new UK emergency Alert, this system will notify all mobile phones with an alert sound – even when they are on silent.  To find out more visit the Government website here Gov.uk   Any alert may put victims and survivors of abuse if they have a secret phone. You can turn off the alert from secret phones either in settings or by turning phones off completely.  Here is a link from the Women’s Aid charity on how to turn off alerts on Android and Iphones Turn off alerts

Have a good week everyone.
