Head of School Update

E-Safety, OfSTED, & Red Nose Day!

It’s definitely been a week of extremes!

Our week began with the whole Junior School attending sessions at North Walsham High with The 2 Johns.  If you were able to join the parent session, you will have seen some of the very insightful, and sometimes alarming, developments in the technology platforms we all use on a daily basis.  Social media and gaming are all part of our daily habits and by attending these sessions, coupled with the lessons we have in school we are providing our children with the skills and knowledge to help navigate the digital world.  However, without your support and understanding this will never succeed.  Over the coming months, we will be providing regular updates to you to help understand some of the pitfalls and provide as much information as we can to support you and your child to have a healthy relationship with technology.

Don’t forget our EXTREME Reading challenge is still in progress – you can send in your photos to the school office – we have had some great examples come through already.

Tuesday the Junior school was inspected by OfSTED and the children were a credit to us all. We will share the result with you as soon as we are able.  Any audit or inspection always feels strange but the inspectors saw us on an ordinary day and we are proud of all our children and staff.

Friday saw us enjoy dressing in mufti for Red Nose day.  Donations can still be made online on school money as normal. The letter is available on the website.

Next week is parents evening and we will also have the PTFA book fair running for the whole week. Don’t forget that you can redeem your child’s World Book Day voucher there as well.  Parents evening runs Wednesday and Thursday. There is still time to book a slot, if you have any queries please talk to Mrs Cotter in the school office.

Swimming: please note that the Victory Swimming pool now requires all children to wear a hat in the pool. These can be purchased from School money for just £1.06!

Lego Vouchers – please can you hand in any Lego vouchers you have collected to the school office and please keep collecting!

Have a good week everyone.
