Head of School update

Ho Ho Ho……

It is my pleasure to write this final update for 2022.  This year has brought us an end of an era, with Her Majesty the Queen’s death, and new beginnings with new staff joining our teams.  Whilst the end of this term has been impacted by illness for many of our children, we were so pleased to see the majority of them back for their Christmas lunches and the end of term celebrations.  With all the challenges that we know each and every one of you in your families have and continue to face, we remain as always here to support however we can.  I would like to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and say thank you for all of the support you have given over this last term.

Today’s update is about rounding up our achievements for the end of this term and looking forward to a new year and fresh beginnings.  We have included PTFA News and important reminders for the start of the new term.

Well done to all the children and staff who participated in bringing “Christmas Counts” to your screens!  This year’s filming was live with no editing and the children did amazingly well.  I am sure you will enjoy watching this over and again!

PTFA NEWS: Thank you to everyone who has supported and contributed to the PTFA this year.  We are pleased to announce the launch of the new logo as well – following the recent survey the result was unanimous.  This will now appear on all the PTFA communication.  Next year will see more activities and events and we hope to hold a magnificent summer event too…. Watch this space for more information!

All that remains is to wish you, your families and loved ones wherever they may be a safe and healthy Christmas, and all our good wishes for 2022.  From all of the staff here at MIJS.

REMINDERS

Slippers:  Slippers are part of our uniform.  Please ensure that children have a pair of slippers or plimsolls when they come back in January.  We now hold these in stock and they are all priced at £2.99 which is substantially cheaper than normal retail prices. If children do not have slippers we will contact you to either provide them or buy a pair from the school shop. Traditionally this is our wettest and coldest time of the year and children will need slippers to change into. Unfortunately children will not be able to play on the field without any slippers to change into due to the mud being brought into school.

Coats:  Please provide your child with a warm waterproof coat.  When we return in January we know that at this time of the year it is very very cold and often wet.  Please help us to keep your child warm and well by making sure they bring in a warm coat to wear outside as we do go out at every opportunity.

FIRST DAY OF TERM: WEDNESDAY 4 JANUARY 2023
