Seal Class Update

This half term we are continuing with our topic ‘The battle of Britain’. On Monday, we learnt about rationing and on Tuesday we joined with Year 5 and enjoyed a carousel of activities which included: searching for clues in the school forest area to learn more about seasonality of fruit and vegetables grown in Britain; clearing the school garden and greenhouse -planting broad beans, garlic and onions; and making ( and tasting) pumpkin soup. It was a real ‘Dig for victory’ experience for all! In English, we have planned and written our own independent recounts and we have been particularly focussing on trying to improve our sentence structure and range of punctuation used. In maths, we have started our topic on fractions. This week we have been particularly focussing on a half – thinking about what a half looks like in everyday life and exploring different representations to show a half. The enthusiasm for learning this week has been great Yr6. Please take the time to have a look at the photos to get a real understanding of what we have been up to this week and the week before half term. Next week, On Wednesday, we are going on a trip to Gressenhall Museum to find out more about the life of an evacuee and the experiences of everyday people during WW2 and on Thursday (11th November) we will be joining with the British Legion at the Remembrance service held at Mundesley Parish Church. So much to look forward to and so much to learn!
