We have had another busy week in Katherine Johnson class!
Our class sentence stacker for our adventure story, ‘The Explorer’ is looking great; we are using metaphors, personification and similes to make our writing interesting for the reader!
In maths, we have moved onto multiplication and have been exploring multiplying (and dividing) by powers of 10. This week, we have learnt more about the Mayan timeline and in particular have had a closer look at their pyramids! We used art straws to recreate our own pyramids; which proved trickier than we thought! Some of us made pentagonal based pyramids, hexagonal based pyramids and even octagonal based pyramids! It was lovely to see the children supporting each other and working together during this activity. Some of the children even worked as a table to make a giant pyramid! Check out some of our photos!
