We have continued to enjoy our English unit based on the book ‘Star in a Jar’. We had lots of fun creating starry night pictures to help us with our own stories. We have written some amazing sentences this week and used excellent vocabulary. Take a look at our sentences below:
One morning, Tom was seeking through a bin. Bosh! Bang! Clang! He fell further and further into the bin slipping and sliding through the rubbish. Suddenly, he noticed something. He felt over the moon. He had found a new piece of treasure – a illuminating, radiant star.
In topic, we have learnt about what chronology means. We have put events in chronological order and looked at the terms BC/AD. We have also begun to look at where the Anglo-Saxons came from and how they split Britain up into different kingdoms.
In mathematics this week, we have been learning how to use the short multiplication method (column method) to multiply a two-digit number by a one digit-number. We have been solving problems related to multiplication and have enjoyed our reasoning this week.
