This week, we have been very busy in our Science lessons and have been finding out all about adaptation and evolution. Firstly, we looked at Darwin’s discovery that finches on the Galapagos Islands had different beaks, which showed they were adapted to eating different foods. We did an investigation on this using different objects shaped like beaks – clothes pegs, tweezers and clips – to see how well suited these were to picking up different foods. Next, we found out about the evolution of different animals. It turns out that the prehistoric ancestors of the whale had legs and walked on land! In English, our story took a dramatic turn as we found out Rose’s fate as she tries to help save her Jewish friends. In maths, we have been set the tricky task of drawing our own line graphs. We have worked incredibly hard this week and been absolute superstars!
