Welcome to Benjamin Zephaniah Class
Welcome to Benjamin Zephaniah Class. We are a happy and friendly class of 29 year 3 children, who have a love of life and learning. Our teacher is Miss Clarke and our excellent teaching assistants are Mrs Woodbridge and Mrs Grey. We are confident, curious and creative people who show care and consideration for all. We value being part of the school community and work collaboratively together. In our class we focus on building our knowledge and skills to become independent learners and we always try our best at everything we do. We also enjoy exploring new topics, taking on new challenges and going on new adventures.
What are we learning about this term?
This term we are learning about the invaders and settlers of Britain. We start our learning off with the Anglo-Saxons. We will learn about how they impacted our local area and research place names to find any Anglo-Saxon influences which have stuck around! We will research about the amazing finds at Sutton Hoo and create replica artefacts in Art and Design to showcase in our virtual museum - we are hoping to create QR codes in computing for this event! After half term we will move on the Vikings. We will find out about their famous adventures across the sea and how they raided Britain of precious materials and resources. In English, we will be writing some adventure stories based on the book 'Arthur and the Golden Rope'. We will also be looking at Beowulf, The Dragon's Hoard and How to Train a Dragon. In Maths, we will be focusing on Multiplication and Division and using our amazing problem solving and reasoning skills to help us solve some tricky questions!
I love this class. We learn lots of things. I like it because everyone is so kind. My favourite lesson is art because I love doing crafts.
My favourite lesson is maths because I love numbers. I like this class because I get to see my friends and my favourite teachers. I love playing with my friends and Mrs Woodbridge always makes me laugh.
I have learnt so much here. It is a lovely place to be because people are caring, lovely and kind. There is no place I would rather be.
