Orangutan Class update w/e 7 February 2020

This week in phonics we have learnt to read and write the trigraph ‘igh’  (light, night, might) and the digraph qu (quit, squid, quack). We have also started to read words with the digraph ‘oa’ (goat, coat).

In maths we have been adding two parts to make a whole and subtracting one part from the whole to find the other part.

We have continued to read our story ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers and talked about what we liked and didn’t like and why. In topic we have been looking at where in the world is Mundesley and where Antarctica is in comparison. We used an atlas to find out where in the world it was, how we would get there and also how different England and Antarctica are. We also looked at what animals you would find in Antarctica.
