Poppy Making to mark 100 years

All children took part in a pottery class on Monday 1st October as part of our work to mark the centenary of World War 1.  The workshops were held by Lisa Barker, owner of The Clay Barn near Dereham.

The pottery making included rolling out the clay to the right thickness, cutting around a template and finally building the clay bowls.  Lisa has taken all of the poppies away to be fired, glazed and gift wrapped and will return them to school in the next couple of weeks.  We can’t wait to see the final results!

The poppies will be on display in school before the children take them home and a larger poppy is kindly being donated to the church for display.
